What is CYMHS
Hi, it's okay to talk about your problems CYMHS is pronounced `KIMS'. It stands for Child and Youth Mental Health Service. Which might sound a bit scary. But it's not. The main things you need to know are:
  • If you are under 18 and have any worries or problems, CYMHS is a safe place where you can talk about them.
  • We will help you by working with you, your parents, an adult or your carer and family members and with doctors, school nurses, social workers, psychologists and school staff when needed.
  • It doesn't cost you anything to come and talk to someone at CYMHS.
  • Our clinics are open Monday to Friday. Don't worry about missing school - if you need to come and see us, an adult will sort it all out for you.

Services like ours are located all around Australia.
