This is the website of Kids in Mind: Mater Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS).

We help about 1500 people every year and we can help you. A big plus is that our public services are free!

ECCO stands for Early Counselling and Community Outreach.

ECCO is a counselling program for young people aged 12-25 years who have recently experienced difficulty handling their emotions or behaviours. 

CYMHS is pronounced `KIMS'. It stands for Child and Youth Mental Health Service. Services like ours are located all around Queensland and Australia. In other parts of Australia and internationally, Services like ours may be called Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).

Jenny, our Indigenous consultant, and Tim, our Indigenous outreach worker, can stay in touch with you during the time you come to CYMHS.

They understand the needs of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

We know that coming to a new place for the first time can feel a little strange, so we do everything we can to make you feel welcome.

Coming to a community clinic

We have a waiting room, like dentists and doctors  - and we have lots of magazines and books.  We do try hard not to keep you waiting.
