ADAWS is the Adolescent Drug and Alcohol Withdrawal Service in South Brisbane. QLD

ADAWS offers a fully supported withdrawal (or detox) program for young people (13 to 18 years) who feel they have a problem with substance use.

The ADAWS program includes:

• A stay at ADAWS for 11 days 
• Worker support 24 hours a day
• Daily relapse prevention groups - these help you work out some goals around your drug use, and give you skills to help stick to those goals once you leave ADAWS
• Daily catch-up with your key worker to make sure you are getting the most out of the program
• Health and medical support
• Recreational activities and other fun stuff

Is ADAWS right for me?

ADAWS may be an option for you if you think your substance use:

What is detox and withdrawal?

Detoxification (or detox) is the process of letting the body rid itself of a substance while managing the symptoms of withdrawal. It is usually the first step in a substance use treatment program.
