How we can help if you come to ADAWS

• There are workers at ADAWS who will make sure you're safe and coping OK.
  

• The workers will listen to you and help you come up with your own goals around your drug use.

What is detox?

Withdrawal, or detox, is what you go through when you’re getting something out of your system, and your body is getting back to normal.

The ADAWS program includes:

• A stay at ADAWS for 11 days 
• worker support 24 hours a day.
• daily relapse prevention groups - these help you develop skills in sticking to your goals once you leave ADAWS
• daily catch-up with your key worker to make sure you are getting the most out of the program
• recreational activities and other fun stuff

ADAWS may be an option if you are aged 13-18 years, and you think your drug use is causing problems.

Where is ADAWS?

The ADAWS office is at 38 Clarence Street, South Brisbane. There are no signs, so it looks like an ordinary house in the street.

The house where young people stay if they join the program is close by, also in South Brisbane.

If you are coming to ADAWS you can catch a bus to the Mater Hospital which is close by, or catch a train to South Bank Station (formally known as Vulture Street Station). If you are coming by car you can park in Clarence Street for up to 2 hours. (If you park in a parking meter site you will need one or two dollar coins.)
